We’re Mellow. We do original reggae rock. A non-stop barrage of catchy blended clever hooks, rhymes, and grooves. Built on a rock-solid foundation of reggae, punk, hip hop, and funk influences, the band creates a new and unique blend of eclectic original music. The band formed on the North Shore of Boston, MA in 2020 by cousins Gage and Zack, who’ve been playing together since they were teens, when they took a road trip to Nashville and started writing their first original songs. The duo takes the “work hard play hard” lifestyle to a whole new level and illustrate their unapologetic love for good vibes and good times through their music. Mellow shows no signs of sleeping — or stopping.
2022 saw the first Mellow public performances in local clubs and festivals, most notably Boston’s Middle East, Midway Cafe, and The Jungle, along with their first single release “Down and Out”, followed by “Raymond Ave”, a 12-track album of all original music. In 2023, Mellow released a 6-song EP “Basement Sessions” showing a heavier jazz influence blended with more reggae sensibilities, keys, and horns, followed by three singles “No Beer”, and Wiz Khalifa’s “No Sleep”. In 2024, Mellow released two more singles, the infectious groove of “Loser’s Club”, and a reggae-infused cover of The Beatles’ “Let It Be”.
